I need an artist to work on a manga with me.

This is a real oppurtunity for me, and i decided that rather than use an in-house artist i would give someone else the same chance I'm getting. So if you have ever wanted to be a manga artist here's your chance!

The manga is Underhaven, a story about a man called Joshua Grey who sees his entire family killed, and then is killed by the same man. When he dies he doesn't go to heaven or hell, he wakes up in a nightclub, called Underhaven. (Clever isn't it)

At the table with him is the angel Gabriel who explains to him (basicly) that God is dead, destroyed when Lucifer invaded heaven. That Angels and Demons walk the earth. And that he is one of them.

Joshua takes up his position as an angel, at first seeking revenge,fighting with anger for losing his family. But then it is revealed that Lucifer is not dead, remnants of him remain in some demons, powerful demons, and so Joshua sets out to help the world along with Gabriel, Samael, the mysterious Faust, the odd Eden and the might of Gospel behind him.

So here's what's going to happen. To the left there you will see some character profiles, basic as they may be. I want you to draw these characters as you see them. I will choose TEN artists who will go through to what we will call 'The second round.'

These ten will be given information on Underhavens characters, plots, and more. And challenged to draw a cover art mock up, and the intro chapter (3 pages long, no speech) to submit to me. I will open these up to public vote and the winner will get a contract with Zenpop (I already technically have that, you'll just get in on mine.)

Submission guidelines

For this 1st stage there aren't really any. I want to see what you will bring to this! XD Go crazy.

Contest will end on the 28th of February. At that point i will give the artists two weeks to submit for round two, and there will be two weeks of voting. So the winner will be announced, funnily enough, and don't read into it, on the 1st of April.

By then hopefully i will have the manuscripts ready for you

There are two further projects currently planned for the Underhaven series, by entering this competition you are in no way committing yourself to these, unless you want to. ^.^
